Immersion Trip

This Thanksgiving break I was fortunate enough to go on an immersion trip to New Orleans.  This is a picture of some signs that were outside of one of the houses we were helping rebuild.  It was wonderful experience helping rebuild houses after Hurricane Katrina, and one that I will remember forever.  One of my friends lived in New Orleans when the Hurricane hit, so being able to give back to their community was something that I have wanted to do for a very long time.

  1. This is a very impressive act that you committed. It is nice to see people getting out and helping the greater community. We need more people like you, people who take their own time to volunteer and help out those who are less fortunate than ourselves. The fact that you knew someone who was personal affected by the hurricane probably made it more worthwhile than those who were not personally affected but even so, people should always look to help out those who need it, whether they know them or not. It is about being human and helping those in their time in need that will speak about your character and who you are.
